In perhaps a very unsurprising development, Chrysler and Nissan have
announced that they will be undergoing model sharing and will leave the
door open to extensive product sharing plans. In this new plan, Nissan
will allow a Chrysler designed compact car to be built at a Nissan plan
in Japan based on a Nissan platform, presumably the Versa chassis.
Likewise, Nissan will be allowed to manufacture a full-size truck based
on the Ram platform in their Mexico based plant.

Cobalt is not an all-new model for 2008, but it offers a unique option

The Jeep Commander is Short Lived

changes in consumer attitudes that have led buyers to buy small and more fuel
efficient vehicle, which the Commander is not.
The Jeep Commander is the fifth model to
be dropped by CCM.
Part of the strategy is to remove vehicles within the Chrysler umbrella
that compete
for the same customer. With 11 SUVs offered being the US automaker,
there was obviously
some overlapping in terms of which markets are being over served.
Chrysler already offers the Dodge Durango and Chrysler Aspen in the
same segment the Commander fills.
