Categories: Autos | May 25th, 2008 | by admin | no comments

Is selling a car privately a hassle? Not anymore. Gone are the days of having to wait until Monday morning to catch a customer service representative on the phone to place your ad.

That’s a pretty good question. For as long as I have been alive (and that’s 34 years), I have seen used car for sale ads at every corner. These days, it’s one of the most popular online classified genres, not to mention being very popular with newspapers, magazines, radio and television.

When an automobile accident occurs, it can be a frightening and confusing situation, which is why it is imperative for individuals to know the law and preexisting “fault” situations for the state an individual lives in. Not one state has a completely “no fault” policy, but almost all states and insurances vary in coverage and in the laws.

Automobile insurance is an institutional framework for the defense, settlement, and litigation of tort (an injury to person or property) claims in the case of an automobile accident.

How to Tell If Your Driving Instructor is a Good One

Categories: Autos | May 24th, 2008 | by admin | no comments

Learning how to drive can be relatively easy but finding someone to teach you is often the major obstacle.  Parents and friends are usually the ones showing new drivers the rules of the road but this can lead to short cuts and bad behavior masked by helpful tips and advice. Driving is a serious endeavor and such short cuts can lead to accidents. A far better alternative than that empty parking lot with a nervous parent or guardian in the passenger seat is a driving instructor.

Extended Auto Warranty: A Welcome Add-on When Purchasing A New Car

Categories: Autos | May 23rd, 2008 | by admin | no comments

An extended auto warranty is a necessary add-on that should be considered when purchasing and/or leasing a new car.  However, unless you know the details, you may be purchasing a warranty

An extended auto warranty can be defined as a contract that a dealership or warranty company offers to cover repairs under said contract.  There are two types of extended auto warranties: bumper-to-bumper and powertrain.

When you walk into a dealership and decide on a specific car, regardless of whether you lease or buy it, the terms are agreed upon.  The next step is that you are asked to step into the financial office wherein a discussion ensues regarding insurance and extended warranties.

The movie tape that you bought in a foreign land, most likely will not play in your VCR and also, you will not be able to watch it on your TV. It is also true the other way round. Video standards differ from country to country. There are three types of video standards that are being used in the world and these are, PAL, NTSC and SECAM. PAL standard is used in Western Europe, South America, Australia, New Zealand, India, and China. Car Auctions - Options

Categories: Automotive | May 22nd, 2008 | by admin | no comments

If you decide to buy a used car, you have several options available to you.
One of those options is either government or dealer auto auctions.
Both these are great places to find a quality car for greatly reduced prices, sometimes
as much as 90% off the cost of retail.
If you have a budget in mind, try to find out the true value of a car, and make sure it is in good condition, and you can find an awesome deal.
In case you are new to auto auctions, you may not know all of your options.
You will probably think opening up the newspaper and finding listings is about the only way to
do it, but there are several other ways to find and attend auto auctions.
You could do the newspaper method, go to the auction preview, scout out the cars
you are interested in, research the cars online, and then go back the next day to make your bid.
But there are other ways.
There are all sorts of listings online for live auto auctions in your area, and you will probably
get a much better overview of what might be sold there than in the newspaper.
This is if you have decided on attending a live auto auction.
You could if you wish complete the whole experience at home.
If you attend an online auction, you never have to leave the comfort of your home.

Mountain Bike Terminology

Categories: Automotive | May 22nd, 2008 | by admin | no comments

For either category, it really is essential to be familiar with biking terminology.

Rather than listing this terminology alphabetically, I’m going to list it by where it’s found on the bike.

So, let’s start at the front of the bike.
